NEEDWOOD ESTATE ORGANIC TEAS is the first tea plantation in the world to be certified as organic and pesticide-free by a German organization in 1986.
The secret behind the delicious taste of the tea leaves is that the soil of the plantation, which is the life of the crops, that has not been destroyed by chemical fertilizers and pesticides brought in by humans, along with the blessings of the surrounding nature on a larger scale. The other reason why this plantation is said to be superior in taste is because of its proximity to the Horton Plains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, which is rich in the blessings of the pristine nature of the old days.
